Communities

Closer to the people around you

A Jirani AI community is a group tied to a real place: your street, estate, market, campus or town. It is where neighbours talk, share and look out for each other.

Neighbours gathered and chatting

Group chat

Real-time conversation and photos with members. Messages you write offline send when you reconnect.

One-to-one chat

Chat privately with members who have chosen to be available. All, Unread, People and Groups filters keep your chats in one list.

Announcements

Group leaders post announcements with an image, link, map, event date and end date. They reach members and people near the community's area.

A real place, a permanent code

Each community has a centre point, a coverage radius and a code like SG-4321 that you can share and search.

Your group, your rules

Every group has a category and can have a policy that members accept. Public groups can be found nearby. Private ones are for invited members and join requests.

Moderated

Members can report a message or photo, or block a person. Moderators and group admins remove what breaks the guidelines.

Area groups

A group for every neighbourhood

When someone uses Jirani AI at home and no group covers that place yet, Jirani AI opens a public area group for the neighbourhood, named after it, such as Kariakoo Community.

  • Nobody is added automatically: join it if you want to.
  • It covers about 1.5 km and never shows where anyone lives.
  • Unused area groups close by themselves after 60 days.
Reach the right people

Announcements that land where they matter

When something is announced for an area, Jirani AI reaches members of public communities inside that area and people who follow an overlapping place, not the whole country.

  • A water cut in one ward reaches that ward.
  • An event at the market reaches the market's neighbours.
  • People who follow a place stay informed even if they live elsewhere.
