Open the app, tap Create new account on the sign-in screen and fill in one form: your name, email and/or phone number (with country code) and a password. Tanzanian numbers get a 6-digit SMS code; otherwise you confirm by email.

Check the number is correct, for example 0712 345 678. Wait 60 seconds and tap resend (up to 5 codes per hour). Some networks block company messages, so check your SMS settings. You can also sign up with your email instead.

Tap the 🇬🇧 EN / 🇹🇿 SW switch on the sign-in screen, or the same switch at the top of Settings.

No. Without it you still get national news and can search any place to see what is happening there. Allowing it shows your area automatically. If you change your mind, tap Refresh on Home and follow the steps.

Yes, it is free to download and use. Normal mobile data charges from your network may apply.

Tap Report Issues, say what is happening and add a photo. Your current location is added for you, or search the place. Optionally send it to a sector. Tap Continue, choose public or private, and confirm.

A sector is an organisation that can fix the problem, such as a water, power or roads authority. When you send a report to a sector, their staff see it with the exact GPS point. The public still only sees a rounded location.

Yes. The report is saved on your phone and uploads automatically when you are online again. A banner shows reports waiting to upload.

Every new report starts unverified. Moderators review reports and evidence and can mark them verified, disputed or false.

Yes, open it from Settings → My Reports. Edits are checked before they appear publicly.

Open the Community tab to see your groups and groups near you, or search by name or code (for example SG-4321). Tap Join to see the group's details, then join. Public communities can be joined when you are inside their area or within 500 m; private ones accept join requests.

Yes. Tap + on the Community tab, give it a name of up to five words, choose its centre and coverage radius, and share its code. Where nobody has a group yet, Jirani AI may already have opened an area group you can join.

They show your availability. New accounts start on Off. A closed padlock is Off: nobody can find you. An open padlock with a key is Members: people in your groups can start a chat with you. A globe is Public: people within your distance can also find you. Tap the icon to change it.

It is one setting for the whole app. It sets how far you can be found and how far Jirani AI looks for groups, people and other things near you.

Use the report option on the message, photo or comment. You can block the person from the same menu. Moderators review what is reported. You can also write to [email protected].

New tokens are checked for 7 days before they become available.

Not yet. Payouts will be switched on after regulatory checks and announced in the app. Your tokens are kept until then.

Make sure you are signed in with a verified account, notifications are on in Settings → Preferences, and Jirani AI is allowed to send notifications in your phone settings. Check your quiet hours too. The bell on Settings shows notifications from the last 24 hours.

You are offline. Your groups and recent chats remain visible, and messages you write wait and send when you reconnect.

If you installed Jirani AI from Google Play, it updates through the Play Store. If you installed the APK from the download page, download the latest APK and install it over the old one; to move to Google Play, uninstall the APK first and sign in again.

Public reports show a location rounded to about 100 metres. Exact points are only shared with a sector you choose. If a group's policy asks for location, members see how far away you were when you sent a message, not where you were. If you choose Public, people see your name and about how far away you are. To open area groups, the app notes roughly where you are (an area of about 1 km, kept 14 days, never shown to anyone). Jirani AI does not track you in the background. Read the privacy policy.

Go to Settings → Account data and tap Export my data.

Go to Settings → Account data, enter your password, type DELETE and confirm. See delete your account for other options.

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and follow the code sent to your phone or email.
