Jirani AI keeps getting better

Every update, in plain words.

7 November 2026 · Version 3.0 (builds 41 to 47)

One-to-one chat, availability and Guide

  • One-to-one chat: chat with members who are available, with All, Unread, People and Groups filters. Report or block from a message, photo or comment.
  • Availability: choose Off, Members or Public, and how far you can be found. New accounts start on Off. That one distance also sets what you see nearby.
  • New names: Map is now Explore, Speak is now Guide, Profile is now Settings, and News on Home is now Updates.
  • Explore: a slide shows groups, people and recent group messages around you, with distance, and can read them aloud. The map tools sit in a toolbar on the right.
  • Preferences: switch categories on or off, and they shape your feed, notifications and Guide. Places can have a category too.
  • Groups: Chat and Announcements, with a category and an optional policy. Photo posts are gone from groups; photos now go in the chat.
  • Offline and live: your groups and recent chats stay on your phone, messages written offline send later, and new messages arrive straight away.
  • Reports: a clearer page with a map and a Public or Private switch.
  • Refresh and typing: a new refresh page saying "Hello Neighbour", and screens that move up for the keyboard.

Hello, neighbour. Easier typing and a smarter Ask AI

  • New opening screen: "Hello, neighbour." or "Karibu, jirani." typed out in the language you chose, on the Jirani AI sky.
  • Typing: the keyboard no longer covers what you type in Ask AI, group chat, sign-in, sign-up, reports and forms, and the page no longer shakes while you type.
  • Ask AI: finds nearby places such as a pharmacy, ATM, fuel or a bus stop, knows today's and tomorrow's weather, reads national news, and answers in your language.
  • Morning brief: one notification in the morning for places you follow: new reports from the last day and rain on the way.
  • Home and news: a compact header, source pictures, clearer headlines with publication times, and a link to the original story with a translate option.
  • Google Play: Jirani AI is on Google Play, so updates install automatically.
  • The web app loads much faster on slow mobile data.
22 October 2026 · Version 3.0 (build 30)

A clearer map, simpler reporting and area groups

  • New opening screen with the Jirani AI sky, stars and a satellite.
  • Map: weather now and for morning, noon, evening and night; nearby services by type (fuel, health, ATM, food and more); announcements and issues to verify; Fit and My location. The map stays in front.
  • Report Issues: say what you see and add a photo; your location is added for you. Choose public or private just before sending. Only sectors that work at your place are listed.
  • Area groups: Jirani AI opens a group for each neighbourhood where people live and no group exists yet. Nobody is added automatically.
  • Groups: photo posts with caption and upload progress, announcements with image, link, map and dates, and a "New messages" line in chat.
  • Search places without an account, and one Refresh that reloads everything and helps you turn location on.
  • Language switch on the sign-in screen and in your profile; notifications show the last 24 hours.
  • Fewer "Too many requests" errors and faster loading on mobile networks.

Travel, one sign-up form and smarter pages

  • One sign-up form with a country code picker; sign in with email or phone in one field.
  • Travel: arrival time with traffic, rain on the way and at your destination, services along the route, saved trips and live trip sharing.
  • Smarter Community, My Reports and Notifications pages; group codes like SG-4321.
  • Preview before posting a report, and Map, Speak and Community for signed-in users.

Notifications, badges and a new look

  • Notifications even when the app is closed (Android), for your communities and reports.
  • Unread counts on the Community and Profile tabs and on the app icon.
  • New Jirani AI app icon.
  • Friendly 3D icons for news, updates, posts and ads without a photo.
  • Offline icon in the top bar instead of a text banner.
  • Safer sign-up: mistyped phone numbers are caught before a code is sent.

Jirani tokens and sector reports

  • Jirani tokens for true, useful reports. See them in your profile.
  • Exact GPS location for reports sent to a sector, so teams can go straight to the spot.
  • Automatic upload of reports saved while offline.
